Lisa Bonet to Guest Star on New Girl

Lisa Bonet is headed to Fox.

The Cosby Show alum will guest star on an upcoming episode of New Girl Season 4, TV Line has confirmed.

Lisa Bonet Pic

Bonet will come on board the sitcom as an educational guru who pops up when Jess and Coach go to a teachers’ conference that is also attended by Ryan, the new science teacher played by Julian Morris.

That actor makes his New Girl debut on October 14.

Look for Bonet's character to specialize in a hands-on approach to learning that forces Jess and Ryan to team up during a session, which only makes Jess even hotter for the teacher. Which is unfortunate, based on the school's rules for fraternizing among colleagues.

As pictured above, Bonet recently appeared in two episodes of Comedy Central’s Drunk History.

New Girl Season 4 Episode 4 Review: Micro

Stick a fork in New Girl! It is officially done!

Last week on New Girl Season 4 Episode 3, I gave them benefit of the doubt. I thought maybe -- just maybe they were turning a corner. Nope!

Tonight on New Girl Season 4 Episode 4 the writers proved that they have run out of stories and they are just going to dumb down the characters.

Oh Jess! What have they done to you? Making Jess out to be shallow is just ridiculous! Jess has never shown even a ounce of shallowness -- so why is this even a story? Yes, they redeemed her at the end, having her embrace being a dork, but it was far too late.

It is a shame they have taken a once unique character, Jess, and turned her into a stumbling moron.

Don't even get me started on the 'micro-penis' story. Are you telling me, that out of all the stories pitched, this is the best? Definitely does not bode well for the rest of the season.

Oh! By the way, can we give Jess a guy who is not a complete tool? Constantly throwing in unlikable characters is one of the reason the ratings are going down.

Can we please cool it with Cece the bartender? This woman was a moderately successful model and we are supposed to believe she is working to save money to go back to school? I have two words for you Cece, financial aide.

The only shining moment was the Nick and Jess interaction. Yes, it would have been nice to see them have some kind of awkwardness -- but it was still a nice scene. Still wish they wouldn't ignore the fact that these two were actually in love at one time.

I cannot believe that I am saying this -- even the guys could not save this sinking ship. The modeling story was BORING! Never laughed once (I didn't laugh at all, actually). At least they gave Coach and Winston something to do.

This may be the beginning of the end for New Girl. The stories are contrived, characters are stilted and ratings are plummeting. My optimism is officially waning and it may be time to finally break up.

And New Girl, I want my pink shirt back!

What did you think of tonight's episode of New Girl? Why do you think the ratings are falling? Are you tired of the constant introduction of unlikable characters?

New Girl Season 4 Episode 5 Review: Landline

There are two words to describe tonight's episode of New Girl; Julian Morris!

On New Girl Season 4 Episode 5 they could have just had Julian Morris stand, smile and read from the phone book and it would have been fine with me!

In all seriousness, this was a solid episode. Having everyone in Nick's bedroom trying to get a signal on their phone was pretty funny; I have had to do something similar in my life. We can always see how a show is going to shape up thanks to the opening; New Girl did not disappoint!

Principal Foster is back! This is where New Girl always succeeds -- their guest stars. Curtis Armstrong is the perfect choice for the principal. He plays the whole out-of-touch administrator extremely well.

They threw in a Nick and Winston flashback! Can we all agree that Nick and Winston are still as awkward as they were back in the day? Never change guys, never change.

It's interesting that they are making Coach the slut of the school. I am perfectly OK with this; it added a lot of comic relief. They seem to be developing his character as the new player and taking the title away from Schmidt. Come on! We all know that Schmidt is going to pine over Cece -- someone has to take his title!

Show of hands -- who wants Nick as your secretary? He is truly the worst person for this job, yet it worked. I know, I know, the writer's could have had him succeed, but that is not Nick. Nick is a good bartender and a great friend; tonight it showed how much he does love and miss his friends.

It's not shocking that my favorite moment was the teacher's meeting. Have you all seen Julian Morris? Bringing him on as the new science teacher makes me just want to hug and kiss the casting department! I really want to see him and Jess go on a date. This has nothing to do with the fact that I want to see more of him, or it has everything to do with that fact! We also got confirmation that everyone who works at the school is basically a pervert.

OK! The writers redeemed themselves this week. The entire episode was comical from start to finish. Was it a perfect episode? No -- but it was not terrible. They got everything right; from the secretary, the perverts at school and even added in a heart to heart.

Everyone was on their game and they looked like they were having fun. I have been extremely critical of New Girl because I expect a lot from my comedies. This is the first installment this season to actually make me laugh throughout the entire episode.

New Girl Season 4 Episode 6 Review: Background Check

Oh, New Girl! You come back from a much needed break and bring us a wonderfully comedic episode -- finally!

On New Girl Season 4 Episode 6 Jess has meth! It made for some extremely funny moments between the group of friends. Jess immediately thinking of Cece as the one that would know what to do with the meth was comical. Did we really think she had the drugs? No. Did it make for some interesting situations? Yes, it certainly did.

Nick singing "Landslide" will officially go down as one of the best moments this season. Thanks to Nick we now know the proper way to avoid uncomfortable situations: cover your ears, close your eyes and sing a song -- good to know.

Poor Winston! He has this group of friends that mean well but are terrible when it comes to making him look good. Did anyone else want to give him a hug when Jess admitted that she never thought he would make it as a cop? Thankfully he is going to live out his dream because he's one of one of the best cadets.

The return of Schmidt being obsessed with Cece was not at all surprising but it was an unwelcome subplot. Are we seriously going down this road again? Schmidt cheated on Cece, has hurt her many times and she is now trying to move on with her life. Yes, they have nice chemistry but this is just getting ridiculous; lets move on to bigger and better things. Though it was hilarious hearing what Schmidt wanted to do to Cece's date Paul.

It was refreshing having the entire cast be part of the main storyline. It was almost like the writers listened to what we wanted -- more ensemble stories -- and are trying to give it to us. Now if they want to keep us happy, they are going to have to really work on the development of the characters; we need these guys to evolve into actual adults with some form of common sense.

What did you think of tonight's episode of New Girl? Did you find yourself missing the show for the past couple of weeks? Or are you done with it altogether?

Schmidt may have kissed Cece on New Girl Season 4 Episode 6, and she may have admitted to kissing him back, but 'shippers of this potential couple should not get too excited.

Another obstacle is about to be on the way.

In the form of Zoe Lister-Jones.

According to TV Line, the actress (Whitney, Friends With Better Lives) will soon debut on New Girl as a significant new love interest for Max Greenfield’s roommate, coming on board as a a city councilwoman.

Look for Jess to coax Schmidt into turning on the charm in order to put a stop to the night construction outside of the loft.

Lister-Jones will debut on the Fox sitcom this January.

New Girl Season 4 Episode 7 Review: Goldmine

Nick and Jess fans are going to have a lot of strong words for New Girl Season 4 Episode 7.

It has been difficult being a Nick and Jess fan and not having any closure on their relationship. Having Nick pretend he was gay was yet another flap in the face of the fans that want to see some fallout from them as a couple.

We will not even get into the whole tired gag of a male roommate pretending to be gay; though the Nick and Jess scenes were the highlight and only shining moment amongst an extremely dull episode. It was not at all surprising that they would paint Schmidt as Nick's significant other -- is there any other choice out there for Nick's possible boyfriend?

Are we seriously going to believe that Cece needs breast reduction surgery? Yes, we get that Cece is fuller in the breast department, but I do not see her as a likely candidate for breast reduction surgery -- especially if she was going through her insurance.

As someone that knows many women that have gone through their insurance to get the surgery -- good luck Cece. Schmidt's mourning of her breasts was worth a few chuckles -- once a douche always a douche. Is it bad that I really wanted to hear Schmidt's last parting words to Cece's breasts?

The Winston and Coach subplot was incredibly boring and contrived. We can usually count on these two for some type of comic relief, but all the good lines went to Nick and Jess; maybe next week guys. At least they let Winston get one of the girls in the end so all the work that the guys were doing was not pointless.

New Girl Season 4 Episode 6 was filled with a lot more laughs and gave us a chance to see what they possibly had in store for this season, but then this episode crushed those hopes. There were no laughs to be had and everyone seemed to be phoning in it; what a sad state New Girl is currently in.

The only bright spot tonight was the ensemble being together at the end and while it was not a funny scene, it just proved how much chemistry this cast has when put in the same room together.

What did you think of tonight's episode of New Girl? Do you feel that they have hit a wall and are lost for stories? Or are you happy with the way things are going?

New Girl Season 4 Episode 8 Review: Teachers

$

The best thing about New Girl Season 4 Episode 8 was the return of the very sexy teacher Ryan. Thank you New Girl Gods for bringing him back!

Can I start shipping Jess and Ryan? There is a lot of chemistry between the both of them; though Jess does need to grow up some more before getting into a relationship.

It does scare me a little bit how perfect the writers are making Ryan out to be. The man is not only gorgeous, but he is intelligent, has a sexy accent and has a lovely heart – so I am just waiting to see what his faults are going to be. There has to be some way that we can keep Ryan around because he would be a great addition to the already established group of friends.

Why must they make Winston such an idiot? Winston has not only gone through police academy training, he passed as one of their top cadets, yet he cannot read a ruler. It is supposed to be seen as funny and endearing, but truthfully is just seems like lazy writing. When Winston was first introduced he was a strong character that seemed to be pretty intelligent – now he is a five year old.

It was a change of pace having Nick be the teacher – though I have no clue how Schmidt and Winston have made it this far in life. They may have taken Winston's intelligence, but at least they gave them to Nick – silver lining. I agree with Schmidt that Nick is the cute one of the group.

Coach having a complete meltdown was predictable, but it did have some comedic moments. We all know Coach is not the best choice as a teacher – how he is even qualified is beyond me – yet I do hope that he succeeds.

It was another choppy episode of New Girl; not a lot of laughs, but it was not completely boring either. Looking at New Girl Season 4 Episode 1 and comparing it to the last eight episodes has shown that the writers have no clue where they are going with the show. There has been very little character growth and they seem to be using cheap tactics to get laughs. Will I still watch the show? Of course I will! It takes a lot to get me to stop watching a show.

What did you think of tonight's episode of New Girl? What do the writers need to do different to get the ratings back up? Or are you happy with the way the show is going?

New Girl Season 4 Episode 9 Review: Thanksgiving IV

On New Girl Season 4 Episode 9, we celebrate Thanksgiving Bangsgiving at the loft!

I've said in the past how great this show is when they utilize their ensemble – tonight did not disappoint! Thankfully (pun intended) New Girl is usually on point with their holiday fare and they proved that they still have life left in them.

The whole Bangsgiving theme had me a little nervous, but when the dates showed up the nerves went away.

Nick bringing Tran as his perfect date was no surprise. Tran has never spoken a word, but he gives such great advice to Nick; love it! It was shocking it has taken Nick this long to figure out his perfect woman would be exactly like Tran.

Was anyone shocked Coach invited Ryan as Jess's date? Tonight just made my love for Ryan grow even more – he wants to be with Jess and doesn't want some one-night stand; though I am waiting for the other shoe to drop.

Coach's date was the perfect match for him; though Coach's reaction to his muscular date was confusing – he has been in the sports industry for years and you'd think he would have dated at least one muscular/strong woman. Thankfully Coach warmed up to her and they both showed how competitive and alike they are; go Coach!

Does anyone else want to hear the other horrors from Winston's life? I never knew you could have such an aversion to lunch ladies, but apparently if you are forced to eat a ton of tator tots it stays with you. We just need one episode dedicated to Winston telling stories of the different things that have happened to him – flashbacks and all!

Schmidt and Cece seem to be heading for a reconciliation – haven't we been here before? It just seems like the writers don't know what to do with them except for the whole back and fourth thing. We either need to put them together already or let them move on to different people. Even with the indecisiveness, those final scenes of them playing a game together was cute.

The big question for tonight is what did the Nick and Jess fans think? We actually got a scene where they somewhat addressed their relationship – unfortunately this is all the closure we are going to get. It was a lovely scene between the ex's where we got some idea of where their heads are. Nick being the one to tell Jess to take a chance was a huge step for him; he's growing up!

It was a surprisingly enjoyable episode. The final montage of everyone with their dates was pretty sweet and gave us an idea of what is to come. While New Girl has been choppy lately, tonight they redeemed themselves and we can only hope this is a step in the right direction.

What did you think of tonight's episode? To the Nick and Jess fans, did you feel any type of closure?

New Girl Season 4 Episode 10 Review: Girl Fight

On New Girl Season 4 Episode 10, Nadia is back and she is going to be a mom!

Winston needing quiet time to study is basically how I study too – lots of snowflakes and little studying being done. I was kind of rooting for Winston when he was investigating Nick's girlfriend, but we all knew the information he was collecting was going to be wrong.

It just baffles me someone who was at the top of his class can be so dense when it comes to the profession he wants to get into.

Can we please hear more about Coach's sister's? That flashback was hilarious!

How great was Tran's granddaughter? I was a little nervous she was going to be incredibly unlikable and we would all be begging for Nick to get rid of her, but she is exactly like Nick – except she's rich. It turns out Nick is not dating a female Tran, but is actually dating himself – had he been successful; though we can already see that this relationship is not going to work out. Seriously, what was the deal with her paying him to stay with her?

The fight between Jess and Cece was so petty BUT incredibly realistic. Sorry ladies, but we can be a petty bunch and it was easy to believe these two friends – who've been friends for 20 years – could get into such a ridiculous fight. Of course it came as no surprise they would make up with each other after an all out fist fight – kudos to the writers for getting it right.

Was anyone surprised Schmidt put himself in the middle of the fight? Jess really should have just locked him up for the three days she needed so he could just stay out of it; though the emoticon fight between Cece and Jess is going down in New Girl history. At least Schmidt wasn't pining all over Cece!

Nadia was back and crazier than ever! I've really missed her and can honestly say I'm happy they haven't developed her into a better person.

Tonight was your typical filler episode happening during the holiday season. Thankfully it wasn't completely hopeless; there were laughs and a touch of development in regards to Nick's relationship.

New Girl Season 4 Episode 11 Review: LAXmas

It's Christmas time on New Girl Season 4 Episode 11!

New Girl has always done holiday episodes exceptionally well and this year they didn't disappoint.

Can I get a show of hands – who wants to see the Christmas play Jess was working on? You can't beat a gingerbread man getting his arm taken off by Santa himself!

As much as I love Ryan and Jess together the whole invite to London did seem abrupt; though the question we were all probably thinking was how Jess was able to afford a last minute plane ticket to London during Christmas. We did get to learn more about Ryan – he comes from a wealthily family who I am dying to meet!

Did anyone else think of the movie Love Actually when Jess arrived in London? It gave me hope for Ryan and Jess when he came to California to be with her for Christmas – please don't screw this up!

Billy Eichner (Billy on the Street, Parks and Recreation) playing an employee at the ticket counter dealing with disgruntled passengers was genius casting. The little heart-to-heart he had with Jess at the bar just made me want to see him become Jess's new friend.

Nick and Winston were on their game tonight! I could not stop laughing at the lengths they were going through just so they could get bumped up; these two together are always gold!

It is time to just put Schmidt and Cece together already! This is seriously getting frustrating and being dragged out far too long. We all get it; Schmidt still loves Cece and Cece still has feelings for Schmidt – no one is falling for that friends line, right?

The final scenes brought back memories of the New Girl Season 1 when Jess went to get her things from her ex boyfriend -- the friends uniting together and not letting her go at it alone. All of them willing to miss their Christmas flights so she wouldn't be alone is what makes this show work!

It was another solid episode for New Girl and I find myself actually wanting to know what is going to happen next. What started out as a very choppy season is starting to take a turn for the better – our characters are growing up, getting into relationships and are slowly becoming the people we once recognized.

Glee
Oh, Glee. After so much promise in the early episodes, I found myself tuning out after the midseason break. I returned many times. Probably due to the promotion from Fox. The show seems to have so many big ideas, that are so full of promise and then they just get ditched for more buzzworthy ones. Glee is the definition of a half baked idea. I cringed when it got the two-season renewal. There are so many shows that are creatively better that deserved a two-year renewal. New Girl Season 4 Midseason Report Card: Grade It!

$
0
0

After a rather depressing New Girl Season 3, the writers promised that season 4 would be bring back the original formula for New Girl – unfortunately they lied.

It seems this season the writers are just not that into New Girl. We've been given choppy story lines; a relationship between Nick and Jess which apparently we were all supposed to forget happened.

Thankfully, we can't complain about everything. We still have Schmidt and his douchebag antics to love. So lets get started on what worked and didn't work on New Girl Season 4.

The Singles Dinner - New Girl

Best Episode: New Girl Season 4 Episode 10. It is not shocking that one of the best episodes had to do with the annual tradition of Thanksgiving. We had the entire cast together and it brought back memories of the good old days. We got to see why these guys are all truly friends and can only hope we get more of that friendship in the second half of the season.

Worst Episode: New Girl Season 4 Episode 4. Where do we even start with an episode that revolves around the revelation that Jess's date has a small penis? It was an episode that made no sense – Jess has never been a superficial woman – and it was cringeworthy to watch. The only shining moment was Schmidt and Coach becoming "models" thanks to Cece and Winston.

Best Character: Schmidt! There is not a question that Schmidt will always be the favorite amongst the group of friends. We all know that he is a douche, but we just can't help but love him. Even in the most contrived episodes Schmidt is there to provide all of us with a chuckle.

Worst Character: It pains me to say this, Cece. Now don't get me wrong I absolutely love the characters on this show and I blame the writers for ruining Cece for me. We all remember when Cece was first introduced as a fiercely loyal best friend to Jess who was also a successful model, yet now she has turned into a bartender who is hurting for money – I don't get it. You'd think this woman would be rolling in tips from the bar patrons.

Most Underused Character: Tie between Coach and Winston. Coach and Winston are played by two extremely talented comedic actors and I find myself week after week wondering why they are not utilized. Winston has turned into a blubbering moron and Coach is...well even I don't know what is going on with Coach.

Hopes For 2015: Less choppy story lines! Seriously writers your audience is starting to dwindle and while you still have those passionate fans there are many out there that want some proper story telling. Can we also please give Winston and Coach something that actually showcases the actors true talents?!

Overall Grade: C

New Girl Season 4 Episode 12 Review: Shark

They say absence makes the heart grow fonder and – while it may be the flu medications I am on – New Girl Season 4 Episode 12 had me completely entertained.

Who would have thought a Winston centric episode is exactly what the show needed? I was happy to see Winston graduate from the Police Academy and they seemed to give him at least half of a brain.

Winston's training partner, Officer Ali (played by the talented Nasim Pedgrad whose talent is wasted at Mulaney), was the perfect addition to the show. We can only hope we get more of these two together in the future.

Who else got excited when they saw Ferguson's bowl? Seriously! I have been missing that cat for ages and we all want him back on the show. I couldn't help laughing out loud seeing all of the cat bowls with the roommates names on them – Winston is truly a cat-obsessed man and now we need to know why he has the names on all of the bowls.

By the way, who wants to see evil Winston? That one line from Jess made me think of the various things that evil Winston would be capable of; please writers do some flashbacks to that one week.

It wasn't surprising Nick and Coach would be overly protective of Winston. Nick and Coach going to great lengths to stop Winston from getting hurt is exactly what I would expect from these two. The final moment when they are at the support group for families of officers was icing on the cake – Nick defending Coach's emotions was just too much.

The Jess and Schmidt storyline was a great addition to an already solid episode. Schmidt being the arm candy to the assertive councilwoman is a relationship I can actually see Schmidt being into. The councilwoman was intriguing; hopefully we get to see her more in the future.

I definitely have felt Jess's annoyance with loud construction happening outside my window and you have to appreciate the lengths she would go to try to get the noise to stop – she is a dedicated woman.

My only complaint is I can already see them ruining Ryan. The one-off line he had about the dolphin was extremely confusing; though it seems this is exactly what the writers wanted. I just don't understand why they have to make all of Jess's boyfriends eventually weird or try to ruin them – can't the girl get a semi-normal guy who has some quirky traits, but is totally worth it in the end? Though I do love Ryan and hope they won't ruin him.

Tonight's episode was a solid comeback for New Girl and it was a wonderful breath of fresh air. The reason tonight worked out well is because they didn't focus on romantic entanglements – it was about friends being friends thrown in with crazy antics. It flowed well from beginning to end – yes even the ending made sense and tired the storyline up perfectly!

The Mindy Project
The Mindy Project makes me laugh out loud in a way that I haven't in years from a TV show. It's smart, witty, plugged into pop culture, and has a strong cast of characters. Why it hasn't been nominated is beyond me! -- Leigh Raines

New Girl Season 4 Episode 13 Review: Coming Out

A desperate man will go to great lengths for what he wants and Coach proved just that on New Girl Season 4 Episode 13.

To start things off, you've got to love Coach for being so jealous of all the attention Ryan gets he finds a loophole in the rules so Jess doesn't have to hide the relationship.

It's something we would expect from a man like Coach and it didn't hurt seeing him in glasses – I can't be the only one who found him even more attractive with the glasses on, right?

Jess: So you want us to come out so that you can go back to hooking up with all the hot teachers?
Coach: Very much so.

Jess and Ryan coming out as a couple makes perfect sense; plus it made for an interesting faculty presentation. I always look forward to hearing from the assorted people Jess works with, though you can't help but sit back and wonder how these people were hired in the first place. Of course Ryan would come up with the best idea for a field trip and when Jess picked his trip it automatically pitted the entire dysfunctional faculty against her.

Jess going against her better judgment and bringing the kids out in nature was definitely the wrong move. I wish they would let Jess be a stronger authority figure and stand up for what would have been a better field trip; though we would have missed out on the hilarious moment of finding out the kids were working on the biology teacher's property. Thankfully Cece and Coach smacked some sense into Jess and told her she needs to stand up for herself!

Schmidt and Nick's relationship is probably one of my favorite relationships on television – they are both brutally honest with each other and, while they do get into fights, what they say to each other is what they need to hear. Case in point, Nick has turned into a shell of his former self and seems to have just given up. Meanwhile, Schmidt has turned into this workaholic who lets his employer walk all over him – which has always baffled me.

So what's better then Nick and Schmidt getting into a fight? Nick and Schmidt making up after said fight. These two are truly the oddest couple in the loft and now they have decided to work together – oh this is going to be fantastic!

Poor Coach! He tried being a suave ladies man which didn't work and than he reverts to being his version of who he thinks Ryan is. Coach has always been someone who has never had the best people skills, yet I give him credit for at least trying tonight.

In general tonight's episode was rather weak compared to New Girl Season 4 Episode 12. Though the ending did make up for the rather weak episode, Coach asserting himself to the women of the school and Jess FINALLY standing up for herself was a long time coming. Granted the best part of the episode was the very end with the friends line dancing – which is basically how every single show on television should end.

Scott and Stiles -- Teen Wolf
Hands down, Scott and Stiles from Teen Wolf. Is there any better best friend duo than these two? They are so ride or die (literally) and I love them. I mean if your best friend is willing to go into your head when you are possessed and save your life, or rescue you when you're trapped in an animal body in a Mexican temple...you know you have a keeper!

New Girl Season 4 Episode 14 Review: Swuit

On New Girl Season 4 Episode 14 we finally get to see what Schmidt and Nick have been up to regarding their new business venture.

I always enjoy when they flashback to Nick's and Schmidt's college days. Schmidt in the fat suit and Nick looking like a hippie always amuses me – the only thing which has truly changed for these two is their appearance.

It came as no surprise Schmidt's and Nick's first invention would be something called a swuit – a sweatshirt suit. Only these two would think there is a market for something like a swuit. Though by episode's end they did make $10,000, so at least they earned some money from this project.

Who else could not stop laughing when Nick and Schmidt were yelling compliments at Jess? It was such an absurd thing to do, yet it fit perfectly with their personalities. Jess being totally confused by all the yelling and not really sure if she should be taking offense or should be flattered added to the hilarity of the entire scene.

Speaking of Jess, I have to give her credit for trying to get Nick and Schmidt to stop bickering like an old married couple; though the methods she chose were a little out there. We all knew it was going to backfire and thankfully they didn't waste time in having it backfire on her.

We all understand Jess wants them to stop fighting so they can actually work together to come up with something worthwhile, but they seem to do their best work when they are at each others throats.

The pitch meeting went exactly how we all figured it would go – terribly. I was confused why Schmidt would let Nick be in charge of bringing the prototype when everyone knows Nick is not the most responsible person and is generally forgetful. Even Jess couldn't save the day, but we did get to see the wonder of the swuit in all its glory and my goodness it was a sight to see.

I can't be the only one who forgot Cece was in college, right?

It was a refreshing change to put Cece, Coach and Winston together in their own storyline. I give credit to Cece for trying to earn enough money herself instead of borrowing money from Coach and Winston, but we all know these guys don't take no for an answer. Coach and Winston justifying giving Cece the money by playing it off as an investment and expecting her to pay them back with interest after she graduates was a pretty genius move for these two.

Speaking of Cece and college, when Winston and Coach interrupted her art history class and basically bashed the things she was taking I wanted to give the girl a hug. It's clear Cece is not sure what she wants to do with her life and is exploring all of her options; though I couldn't help but laugh when Winston threw out hotel management as the best option because it would give them a better return on their money.

The biggest surprise of the night was definitely when Kai broke up with Nick. It seemed like this couple was never given the proper chance and they were sorely underdeveloped. I get Kai would want a guy who wants to be lazy and just couch surf, but you'd think she would also understand Nick is in a rut and he needs to make some type of money. I am going to miss seeing Kai – I was really starting to warm up to her.

In the end this episode was pretty much a Nick and Schmidt bromance episode which is never a bad thing and something I would never complain about.

Now it's your turn; What did you think of tonight's episode? Were you surprised they ended things between Nick and Kai? What do you hope to see in the next nine episodes?

Believe it or no there are only nine episodes left this season, so if you need to catch up watch New Girl online now via TV Fanatic.
